Proverbs.

Proverbs KWL.

Proverbs 1.

1 Wise sayings of Solomon ben David, Israel’s king:
2 To know wisdom and discipline. To recognize wise speech.
3 To learn how to think in terms of rightness, justice, and fairness.
4 To give cleverness to the naïve, discernment and purpose to the young.
5 The wise must listen and add to their learning, and an attentive person must get good advice.
6 To pay attention to a wise saying, satire, sages’ words, and puzzles.
Pr 1.7:
The sort of poetry which doesn’t rhyme.
7 Revering the LORD is how we begin to know wisdom.
Discipline? The stupid have no respect for it.
8 My son, hear your father’s restraint. Don’t put aside your mother’s Law.
9 For they’re a wreath of favor on your head, a necklace for your neck.
10 My son, when sinners try to convince you, don’t agree.
11 When they say, “Come with us—we’ll ambush for blood! We’ll hide out from the innocent for fun.
12 We’ll swallow their lives like the afterlife—and whole, like those who fall down a well.
13 We’ll find every kind of precious wealth. We’ll fill our houses with loot.
14 Throw in your chip with us! One purse will be divided among us all.”
15 My son, don’t walk in their direction. Keep your feet away from their path.
16 For their feet will run towards evil. They’ll quickly come to spill blood.
17 For, throwing out nets at nothing, at the sight of every leader’s wing,
18 they’ll ambush for their own blood. They’ll hide out from their own souls.
19 This is the journey of everything ripped off:
It’ll rip off your soul, and take from its leaders.

Proverbs 3.

Pr 3.33-34:
Pride and coveting destroys. Humility restores.
33 The LORD curses the wicked’s house. He blesses the righteous’s home.
Pr 3.34:

34 If the LORD scoffs, it’s toward scoffers. If he gives grace, it’s to the lowly.

Proverbs 6.

False teachers and agitated students.
6 Slacker, go to an ant, see her ways, and wise up.

8 She prepares in summer. She gathers bread at harvest for her food.
9 Slacker, how long do you lie down? When do you get up from sleep?
10 Short sleep. Short breaks. Short folding-hands-to-lie-down.
11 Your poverty and need are coming to you like an armed man.
